Do you think your clothes hair and makeup play a big role in what ethnicity people think you are?
Do you think your speech patterns, clothing, hair style and demeanor play a big role in what race people think you are? I do, for example I am biracial, and when I am not tan and wear mainstream clothing people think I am just jewish or sicilian, but when I am tan people ask me what race I am more frequently. Another example is my cousin, she is half black and half chinese and people assume she is filipina because she is quiet and shy, plus she does not like tanning so she is fairly light. Another example is one of my female friends, she is 1/4 black and german. Most people assumed she was part black until she stopped tanning, started dressing more mainstream, and straightened her hair and lost some weight, then most people thought she was white. What is your take on this?
