Question for landlords, will I have to pay for this damage?

It completely depends on the contract you signed, but my tenants would not have to pay as long as they told me asap because the toilet was at fault, as long as it was an actual toilet problem, and not you overstuffing the toilet with god knows, than no, you would not have to pay.
