What color paint goes with golden oak kitchen cabinets?

My kitchen floors are a natural oak hardwood, my appliances are almond color (23 years old and still going strong!), my counter tops are the butcher block look laminate from the 80s. I've purchased red curtains for the kitchen. I'm reluctantly going to remove the wallpaper and paint. I've never had a kitchen that wasn't wallpapered, so this is scary for me. Thanks.
