Anyway to make hair grow faster?

I would really like my hair to be about 6 inches longer and i know that takes about a year. I have brown thick curly Sicilian hair. Is there a way to make it grow faster with certain products? I heard about Coconut oil, and i was wondering if that really works and how often i should use it if it does. Any other products? Thanks in advance!
