Portuguese names are the same as sicilian?

Someone just thought I would be so stupid as to hate some african country which I never known to be real; and furthermore; they told me the character of Phill Deekey's crime novel, "Lurking angels" whom is a sicilian immigrant and whose name I adopted into my profile, is actually has a portuguese name...is there no limit to smug in some people's brain, or was I just unlucky? Is "Portugal" the same as Sicily?
