Slightly damaged passport?

Basically I'm flying to Spain in the next week and one of my friends has just commented on the condition of my passport. Basically I have a couple of water marks on one page and on the corner of my laminate page it's peeling, literally only a few mm on each corner. I've checked on the passport website and basically I don't have enough time to order a new one via one week fast track, and apparently if your passport is considered "damaged" then you cannot use the one day service. So it appears I am rather stuck, so my question is to any frequent flyers, do you think I'll still be able to fly to Spain? Interestingly enough I did travel to France a few weeks ago as a foot passenger via Brittany Ferries and I had no issues then, no comments off immigration or customs which is why I didn't think anything of its condition until now. But I guess airlines might be more strict. Opinions, advice?
